Chinese electric car makers are aiming at the American market even without an agreement between the two governments. According to several analysts, industrial strategy and aggressive pricing are strong enough to pave the way for the first commercial moves.
For Europe, this is a warning sign: if Chinese manufacturers manage to enter the US, pressure on prices and margins would increase elsewhere too. The issue remains sensitive, though, amid tariffs, geopolitical tensions and data-security rules.
