Ducati Desmo450 SM: an early look at Borgo Panigale’s supermoto

Ducati is preparing to enter the supermoto scene with the Desmo450 SM, a model still under development but already drawing plenty of attention. The goal is to transfer motocross know-how to the road and track, with the brand’s signature desmodromic valve system and chassis geometry designed for aggressive riding.

For the Italian market, this would be a particularly appealing debut, broadening Ducati’s range into a technical and highly theatrical niche. Launch timing is expected no earlier than 2027, with a clearly sport-focused positioning and a strong racing character.
