F1 2027, 10 sprint races planned: Monaco included

Formula 1 is expected to push further with sprint weekends: in 2027 the calendar should feature 10 sprint races, one more than in recent seasons. One of the biggest surprises is Monaco, a track long associated with strategy and qualifying, which will host the short format for the first time.

The aim for the FIA and F1 is to create more action-packed weekends and make the series more appealing for TV audiences and promoters. The idea remains divisive, though: teams welcome the extra commercial value, while several drivers fear the traditional qualifying session could lose importance.
